Sheryl Cefali, Managing Director, Duff & Phelps

Sherry Cefali is a managing director in the Los Angeles office and part of the Transaction Opinions business unit. She has more than 20 years experience rendering fairness opinions and solvency opinions and determining valuations of companies and securities.

Sherry's experience includes engagements with Diodes rendering a fairness opinion in connection with its acquisition of Zetex plc; Douglas Emmett Realty Advisors rendering a fairness opinion with respect to the relative values of its institutional funds and management company prior to its IPO; ZANTAZ rendering a fairness opinion in connection with its sale to Autonomy Corporation, plc.; Cardinal Health rendering a solvency opinion in connection with the spinoff of CareFusion; Intergraph Holding Company rendering a solvency opinion in connection with its leveraged recapitalization and dividend payment; and Embarcadero Technologies rendering a solvency opinion in connection with its leveraged acquisition by Thoma Cressey Bravo.

Sherry has also authored articles related to fairness opinions and various investment banking topics that have appeared publications, including Mergers & Acquisitions Journal, Directorship, Los Angeles Business Journal, Business Law Today and California Lawyer. She is also a frequent speaker on topics concerning fairness and solvency opinions to attorneys, accountants and board members.

Prior to joining Duff & Phelps in 1990, Sherry was a vice president with Houlihan Lokey.

Sherry received her M.B.A., with honors, from the University of Southern California and her B.A. in political science, cum laude, from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She holds the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Series 7 and 63 licenses. Sherry serves as a director on the boards of the Women's Leadership Council and Metta From U.S., Inc.
