Jim Levin, Partner, Winston & Strawn LLP

James Levin is a partner in the firm's Los Angeles office whose practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, and other corporate transactions. He also advises boards of directors on corporate governance matters.

Mr. Levin's merger and acquisition clients include many Fortune 500 companies and other large public and private companies. He has significant knowledge on tender offers, leveraged buyouts, negotiated acquisitions, antitakeover measures, and proxy contests. He has represented major investment banking firms in their role as advisers in acquisitions and contests for control. In addition, he has advised issuers on foreign and domestic securities offerings.

Mr. Levin received a B.A. in 1976 from DePauw University and a J.D., cum laude, in 1981 from Northwestern University, where he was a member of the Northwestern Law Review. He also received a Master's in Management in 1981 from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.
